You are what you eat?

Normally, M being out of town means that I can eat pretty much whatever I want, and I usually take advantage of these times to eat veggies and beans, both of which he's loath to eat. Long story short, I ate almost nothing but broccoli and beans Monday and Tuesday. I only stopped yesterday because I'd eaten all of both, and M was home for dinner. While the super dose of fiber didn't affect me so much, the wee one has had some serious gas issues. Serious. When she kept tooting yesterday, I attributed it to the fact that she hadn't pooped in close to a week, and (according to hubby) toots are the poop's little cries for help. I was confused when she kept waking up last night wailing and tooting. It hit me like a ton of bricks at 5:30 this morning as the little booger kept flailing around, kicking me in the mouth, and passing gas. Duh. I had overloaded her little system with BROCCOLI AND BEANS. I might as well have injected her with gas. Poor thing. Luckily, I think the gas has just about run it's hysterically smelly course. I think I'll have mashed potatoes or something horribly bland for dinner. I was going to have sweet potatoes and zucchini (M is out of town again), but I'm afraid of what I'm doing to my daughter with all the healthiness.

She's taking a nap now, so I'm going to make dough for shortbread. Yum. I'm excited already.

sometimes there are things that you just have to learn on your own...I guess you won't do that one again. Elliotte didn't take to kindly to the chocolate soy milk that I was addicted to when she was nursing. It took me 2 weeks to figure it out!!
