I have a problem. I need some new undergarments. Well, need/want. Whatever. The problem is that a couple of years ago I swore off Victoria's Secret because their crap is overpriced, under-quality, and doesn't fit me well. Since S was born, I've been going the GapBody route, and I've been happy with it. They've always got basic: white, nude, black. They usually have some colors that I like: scholastic gray, modern red, deep fog.
Right now, they've got some color options that I'm really liking online, but they are very few matching bra/panty sets for my little 34A wearing self. (I think I may have mentioned this before, but I miss my boobs. Love my daughter, miss my boobs.) So, I'm stuck. I'm kind of particular about matching bras and panties. It's like when your mother used to tell you to make sure you wore clean underwear because you never knew when you might be in an accident and you wouldn't want the EMTs seeing you in dirty panties...as a grown up, I've taken that to mean, make sure you wear clean panties because you never knew when you might be in an accident and you wouldn't want the EMTs seeing you in dirty panties and make sure they match your bra because the paparazzi might be following you and take a picture of you and the EMTs and you want them to think you care about yourself enough to match your bra and panties. Plus, it makes me feel a little more like an actual woman and a little less like a full-time former milk factory. I know, I'm strange.
So, dilemma. If I can't get matching sets from Gap, and I refuse to go to Victoria's Secret, where am I going to go? Undies must be cute, comfortable, matching, and leave NO panty lines but still have backs. I am over the thong thing except for dire circumstances. What, oh what, shall I do? Help me, people.

I've never worried about matching my underwear, because who really is going to see it? I just get my underwear at Walmart and my bras at Target. I guess I just can't get myself excited about my underwear.
Are you willing to shop at Target? They have surprisingly nice stuff that matches. And it's obviously not expensive.
I also just heard today that Patagonia has great underwear but I don't know about their bras. My friend said it's a bit expensive but lasts for years. If that's what you want. Good luck!
I am a bit perplexed. Since when did you wear a 34A and panties with a back??? Not the SCP I used to know!
I just started shopping at Nordstom's for this stuff. It's ABSURDLY expensive, but high quality, good looking bras in unusual sizes with matching panties is their speciality. Finding good bras in my size (36F) is so hard, that's why I'm willing to shell out the big bucks, personally. Check 'em out!
Yeah, I have a bunch of stuff from Target, and Old Navy, and even though the price is better than Victoria's secret, the quality isn't as good. If you stick to the simpler (non-lacy/stringy/bedazzled) undies at VS you might have more luck? Also, about 5 years ago I bought a bunch of bras from Maidenform.com and they're not in the best shape, but it's been 5 YEARS. So, that might be another way to go - Hanes or Maidenform online...? Good luck!
Okay..I am with Kristie...34A...that is not the girl I knew...ha..ha.. :)
I think you need to either (a) give VS another chance. Maybe their quality has gone up since you last tried? I don't know. I've shopped there since high school and have always found their things to be high quality. Maybe you're, um, ROUGHER on your undergarments than I am? :) Although, their special sizes are limited. I had the worst time for a while when I was strangely a 38A. So happy to be back at an incredibly common 36B.
Or, (b) hit an upscale department store like Wonderland suggested. If you're an odd size, you're going to need to pay for quality, but it will be so worth it.
And, for the record, I am 100% with you on the need to match and always have been! Just makes me feel better about myself. Prettier. Sexier. More OCD. That kind of thing.
